Description

Crook Cottage and Gammon's Farmhouse is a building that serves as both a farmhouse and a cottage. The rear section likely dates from the early 18th century or earlier, while the front section was constructed in 1823. The front range is made of brick in Flemish bond and features a plain tile roof. It is two storeys high with a hipped roof and has a rear stack on the right. The front has a regular arrangement of three windows, which are recessed 20th-century two-light casements. There is a central ribbed door accessed by two steps, topped with a decorative semi-circular fanlight under a semi-circular-headed red brick architrave with two orders and a keystone dated 1823.

To the left is a rear wing with rendered walls and a plain tile roof that has a lower ridge and is hipped at the back. There is a range at right angles to the wing on the right, which runs parallel to the front range and extends beyond it. This section is either brick or brick clad and has a plain tile roof that is hipped on both sides, with a projecting stack on the right. There is a link between the front and rear ranges, which is parallel to the right of the wing, also two storeys high, made of brick, and topped with a plain tile roof. The interior has not been inspected.
