Description

Mulberry House is a house with a mid-18th century front facade, likely built onto an earlier structure. The front elevation is timber framed and faced with reddish-grey brick in a Flemish bond pattern. It has a plain tile roof. A right-hand extension was added beyond a straight joint in the brickwork. The house has a plinth and a moulded wooden eaves cornice. The roof is hipped to the left and half-hipped to the right, with a brick ridge stack towards the left end and another at the top of the right hip. The windows are irregularly placed, with three 16-pane glazing bar sashes in open boxes and one small fixed light beneath the left stack. There are two blocked windows, one to the left of the straight joint and one at the right end. Ground floor windows have segmental brick heads. The front door consists of six fielded panels, and is positioned beneath the left stack, with a flat, broad corniced hood under a 20th-century trellised porch. A 19th-century rear extension exists. The interior features 18th-century doors and exposed timbers in the right and left sections of the house.
