Description

Norton Cottage is a house dating from the late 18th or early 19th century. It is located on the south side of the A259 road near Old Romney. The ground floor is built of yellowish-red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, while the first floor is tile-hung, featuring three diamond shapes created with fishscale tiles and the remainder plain. The roof is tiled and has a half-hipped shape towards the right. A gable end stack is located to the left, and a projecting stack is on the right. The front facade has a regular two-window arrangement with 16-pane glazing bar sashes. A panelled door is situated off-centre to the right. A 20th-century single-storey addition with a hipped roof has been added to the right, along with a rear lean-to. The interior has not been inspected.
