Description

Nos 8, 9, and 10 East Cliff Terrace date from around 1840. They are a group of three buildings, each with four storeys and a semi-basement, and originally contained three windows each. The buildings are constructed of yellow brick, with some stuccoed elements. A cornice runs above the second floor, and another cornice with a parapet and a small pediment is positioned above the third floor, specifically over No 9. Iron balconies are present on the ground and first floors; the ground floor balconies include hoods and steps leading up to them. Most of the original window glazing bars remain intact, and Venetian shutters are featured on the first floor of No 9. No 10 has a later addition of a wooden verandah. Nos 1 to 39 East Cliff Terrace form a wider group.
