Description
Dane House is a house built between 1830 and 1840, with a later 19th-century added top storey. It is constructed of stock brick, featuring Flemish bond on the two lower storeys and stretcher bond on the upper storey, topped with a slate roof. The building has three storeys and features two windows on the second floor, which are cambered sashes with verticals only and jalonsies. The first floor includes a wooden balcony adorned with sunray motifs and a curved canopy made of corrugated iron. There is one 12-pane sash window in reveals and one French window on this level. The ground floor has two 12-pane sashes with jalonsies, a left-side French window, and steps leading to the street with an iron handrail. The rear elevation displays flintwork with yellow brick lacing courses on the lower two floors, while the upper floor is made of stretcher bond brickwork. It features one cambered 12-pane sash, one 16-pane sash, and four later 19th-century sashes.
