Description
Nos 7 and 9 Market Street is a 16th century timber-framed building that features an early 19th century red brick front with mathematical tiles. The front has stone arches designed to look like flat gauged work and box sash windows with a single vertical glazing bar. The early Victorian shop front extends to No 9, which has pilasters topped with moulded caps and a plinth, along with a six-panel door that has four square glazed panels. No 7 has a slightly later window design with a central door in one square. The cornice is topped with a heavy modern blind box. No 9 is built of yellow brick and has three storeys with two yellow brick rubbed arches on the first floor. Both buildings have tiled roofs and eaves gutters. Nos 1 to 9 (odd) Market Street and Nos 4 to 10 (even) Delf Street form a group.
