Milestone. Late C18. Rectangular stone block, about 2 feet high with a slight plinth. Inscribed on one side Deal 3, on the other: Sandwich 3 London 71 in incised and painted lettering. The road was turnpiked in 1797 (See James Carley, Turnpike Roads of Kent).
