Description

The Hope Inn is a public house dating from the mid-18th century, with extensions added in the late 19th century. The original core is constructed of flint and red brick, with a rendered front elevation, and has a plain tiled roof. It is two storeys high, set on a plinth, and features a parapet to the half-hipped roof, with a central stack. The regular fenestration includes three sash windows on the first floor and, on the ground floor, one sash window and one plate glass window, with a central door consisting of six raised and fielded panels within a raised, semi-circular surround. Exposed flint and red brick is visible on the right return. A 19th-century rear wing has three wooden casements on each floor and a half-glazed door within a weather-boarded, gabled porch.
