Description
This estate cottage, built in the late 19th century, is located about 50 metres south of Updown House. It is inspired by the work of George Devey at Betteshanger. The cottage features a combination of brown brick, flint, ragstone, and tile hanging, topped with a plain tiled roof. It has an L-shaped plan and consists of one storey and an attic. The gable has a barge board, and there is a projecting jettied half-hipped wing to the right, with a stack at the rear. The entrance includes a four-centred arched doorway with an oriel window above on the gabled wing, and the cottage has irregularly placed wooden mullioned windows throughout.
