Description
The barn and farmyard buildings, located 10-50 metres southeast of Marley Cottage, date back to the 17th century. The barn is constructed of red brick in English bond and features weatherboarding, topped with an asbestos-clad roof. It has a hipped roof with two hipped strays. Inside, the barn is aisled and supported by quadrant braces. To the right, there is a projecting cowshed or cartshed consisting of six bays, which also has a weatherboarded outshot. Surrounding the courtyard is a wall approximately six feet high, made of red brick in an irregular bond. In the northwest corner, there is a small outbuilding built with banded flint and header bond brick, while the inner walls are either weatherboarded or repaired with breeze block.
