Description
This building is a barn located about 25 meters southwest of Micklefield Hall, dating from the 17th century. It features a timber frame set on a brick base and is weatherboarded with a half hipped tiled roof. The barn consists of seven bays and includes two gabled midstreys in the third and sixth bays, which face away from the house. There is also a two-bay gabled wing on the same side, nearest to the house, along with linking lean-to outshuts.
Attached to the gable end facing the house are 18th-century red brick outbuildings that have double weatherboarded gables over lean-tos leading to the house. The barn has cambered heads and diagonally glazed iron frame casements. The left return features an entrance with a moulded hood, while the right return has a loft entrance. Inside, the barn has curved braces from jowled posts to cambered tie beams, queen struts to collars clasping purlins, curved windbraces, and original walling.
