Description

Newgate Cottage is a pair of early 17th-century cottages that have been refronted with a cement rendering. It has a plain tiled roof and three windows: the upper two have vertical sash glazing, and the lower one is modern. An attic storey is visible with a single dormer featuring casement sashes. The doorway is sheltered by a flat hood supported on brackets. The cottage forms part of a group with numbers 14 to 26 (even) on New Street.
