Description

17 New Street is a mid-18th century, two-storey building constructed of red brick with blue headers in Flemish bond. It features a tiled roof and an eaves cornice. The building has two windows on the first floor and a bay window on the ground floor, although all the glazing bars are missing. The entrance has a doorcase with brackets and a cornice, and the six-panel door has the upper two panels glazed, the center two are moulded, and the lower two are bead flush. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 13 to 21 (odd) and Nos 2 to 8 (even) Austen's Lane, as well as Nos 12 to 20 (even) King Street.
