Description
This chest tomb, vault, and headstone are located about 2 meters south of the Church of St. Nicholas. They date from the late 17th century and are made of red brick with stone dressings. The vault features a barrel-vaulted roof. The chest has a cyma-moulded plinth, rusticated quoins, and a moulded top slab, although the inscription is illegible. The headstone commemorates Blake Edwards, who died in 1739, and stands about 2 feet high, adorned with a shield, an anchor, and acanthus scrolls.
