Description
No. 67 High Street is a house dating from the early 18th century, with alterations made in the early 19th century. It has a timber frame that is rendered and tile hung on the left side, with a red brick ground floor and a plain tiled roof. The building is two storeys high, with an attic above a semi-basement. It features a wooden cornice with modillions at the eaves of the hipped roof, which has two dormers with pediments and chimney stacks on both sides. The windows are arranged regularly, with three glazing bar sashes on the first floor and two tripartite glazing bar sashes on the ground floor. The central entrance door consists of six raised and fielded panels, set within a panelled surround that includes fluted Doric pilasters, a triglyph frieze, and a pediment above. This entrance is accessed by a flight of four steps, which has ramped iron rails supported by turned principals topped with ball and urn finials.
