Description
This building, located at 30-38 Harnet Street, is a corner property at the junction of Harnet Street and The Butchery, facing Strand Street. It has been divided into several shops with flats above and is the remains of a hall house dating from around 1400, although it has been greatly altered. The structure has two storeys and an attic, featuring two windows facing north, one window facing west, and one window facing east on the first floor, all with glazing bars. Some timber framing is visible on both the ground and first floors. At the southwest end, there is a blocked arch with carved wooden quatrefoils in the spandrels. The first floor is plastered, and there are modern shop windows. This building, along with Nos 9, 13, and 15, forms a group.
