Description

This is an 18th-century building, comprised of numbers 40 and 40A, King Street, and it is part of a group with numbers 38 to 54 (even). The building has a tiled roof and two storeys. The upper floor is painted brick, and there are two sash windows with 12 panes of glazing bars in each. A late Victorian shop front extends across the ground floor, featuring columns at the return corner of each window, with a central entrance. Each column has a moulded cap. The entrance is accessed by a pair of glazed doors beneath a wrought iron fanlight. A modern fascia and blind box are present above the shop front.
