Description

No. 54 High Street is a timber-framed house that was refronted in the 18th century and later, while still partly showing the overhang of its first floor on a bressummer. The building has two storeys and features one window facing High Street and another facing Short Street. The ground floor is made of red brick, while the upper floor is finished in brown roughcast. There is a sash window with intact glazing bars on the ground floor of the east front only, while the other windows are casements. This property is part of a group that includes Nos. 54 to 60 (even) along with Nos. 21, 27, and 29, as well as the Outhouse on King Street.
