Description
No 1 Church Street in St Clement's is a Grade II listed building dating from the 15th century. It is two storeys high and constructed of plastered brick with a steeply pitched tiled roof. The building features one hipped dormer with casement sashes that include glazing bars. On the first floor, there are three box sash windows with vertical bars, and three similar sash windows on the ground floor. A segmental plastered arch with a keystone and springers is located above the door, which is a four-panel design with the upper two panels glazed. Adjacent to No 1 is a low-level single-storey building between No 1 and No 3, which has a pantiled roof and a reeded back door to No 1 with a plaster surround. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 1 to 5 (odd) and Nos 53 to 57 (odd) High Street, as well as Nos 22 to 34 (even) Fisher Street.
