Description

This is a tomb chest and headstone for the Marsh family, located about 1 metre north of the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul. The stone commemorates Joseph Marsh, who died in 1772, and stands approximately 3 feet high. It features rocaille scrolls and two cherub heads. The tomb chest is dedicated to Richard Marsh, who died in 1810, and has incised panelled sides along with heavily reeded corner pieces that taper towards the base.
