Description
Winklandoaks Farmhouse is a house dating from the late 17th century and mid 18th century. It is constructed of red brick with a plain tiled roof. The central block is designed in the Artisan Mannerist style and is part of a larger building, now featuring smaller flanking blocks. The house has two storeys and an attic, set on a plinth with a plat band and frieze, which includes flint panels. Originally, it had a modillion eaves cornice supported by four giant pilasters. The roof is hipped and includes one flat-roofed dormer and a stack at the right end.
To the left are lower two-storey hipped wings, with the brickwork bonded irregularly into the main block, and to the right is a former granary. The left-hand block has one glazing bar sash window on each floor, while the right-hand block has one metal casement window on each floor. The centre features a three-light wooden casement window on the first floor with a keyed head, and a tripartite sash window on the ground floor with a triple keyed basket arch. There is a half-glazed door to the left, which has a basket arch and a raised brick surround.
