Description

The Chequers Inn and Ivy Cottage is a building from the 18th century that features a timber-framed structure. It stands two storeys high and has five windows. The ground floor is faced with painted brick, while the upper part is covered in plaster with imitation timber-framing. The roof is hipped and tiled. The first floor has casement windows and horizontally-sliding sash windows, while the ground floor has modern windows. Ivy Cottage occupies the left-hand bay and has a half-hipped end gable with one sash window that retains its glazing bars. The Chequers Inn includes a chamfered beam and some original wainscotting from the late 16th to early 17th century in the tile bar area.
