Description
Hill Cottages, located at The Risings No 4 in Herne, is an early 19th-century building. It is two storeys high and constructed of brown brick, topped with an old tiled roof. The building features three sash windows, with intact glazing bars on "The Risings" and verticals only on No 4 Hill Cottages. There is a modern three-light bow window on the ground floor of The Risings. The entrance to The Risings includes a doorcase with a pedimented wooden hood supported by brackets, along with a passage entrance that has a cambered doorcase. No 4 Hill Cottages has a doorcase with a cornice on brackets and a four-panelled door, accessed by three steps leading to the street. Hill Cottages and The Risings are part of a group that includes Church View, Leo Cottage, Horninglow Cottage, Hill Cottage, Street House, Forge Cottage, Street Cottage, and Chapel Cottage.
