Description
Nos 27 to 29 on St Margaret's Street are 18th-century buildings that stand three storeys tall. The buildings are mostly covered in stucco, except for No 28, which is made of painted brick. They feature end quoins and a tiled roof with three dormers, two of which are hipped. A wooden bracket cornice runs along the top. The front facades have six sash windows with only verticals, and both Nos 27 and 29 include keystones above their windows. No 27 has a modern shopfront, while Nos 28 and 29 have late 19th-century shopfronts with panelled risers. Additionally, No 29 has two round-headed sash windows at the rear. These buildings, along with Nos 27 to 36 and the Church of St Margaret, form a cohesive group. Rainwater heads on the buildings are dated 1775.
