Description
The garden walls and walled garden surrounding and attached to Withersdane House date from the 18th century and are constructed of red brick. There are three courtyards, with two located immediately to the east and south of the house, standing about 2½ to 4 feet high. These courtyards have low gate piers to the west and south, enclosing the garden and rear yard while being attached to the house. To the north and northeast, there is a walled garden with walls that ramp up to about 7 feet high, featuring coping. Each courtyard measures approximately 20 to 25 meters square, although the western walls of the walled garden are incomplete.
