Description
Wey Street Farmhouse is a house dating from the early 18th century. It features a combination of timber framing and red and blue chequered brickwork on the front. The roof is plain tiled and the building stands two storeys high on a plinth, with corbelled brick eaves. There are stacks at both the left and right ends of the building. The windows are arranged regularly, with three wooden casements on the first floor and two on the ground floor, all having cambered heads. The central entrance has a panelled door, with the upper section glazed, set within a 20th-century gabled porch. At the rear, there is an integral catslide outshot. Inside, there are framed partitions and a rear wall to the catslide, along with posts supporting the main range. The structure may have originally been a slightly earlier framed building that was clad or rebuilt in brick. The parlour features an inglenook fireplace with a coved overmantel, and the roof has staggered purlins.
