Description
Stockbridge House is a house from the early to mid-19th century. The ground floor is made of painted brick, while the first floor is tile hung, topped with a slate roof. The building has a double depth and stands two storeys high on a brick plinth, featuring boxed wood eaves. It has a hipped pyramidal roof with a shallow pitch and stacks positioned halfway along the side hips. The front of the house is regular with three windows, consisting of two 16-pane and one central 12-pane glazing bar sashes. The central door is recessed and panelled, with two top lights, and is accessed by three shallow steps. The outer architrave is adorned with fluted pilasters and a frieze with patterae. A wooden porch features two Doric pilasters and two Doric columns, with suggested triglyphs created by incisions and a flat corniced top. The interior has not been inspected.
