Description

Nos 1 and 2 The Street are a pair of adjoining houses located on the south-east side of The Street in Egerton. They are an L-shaped, timber-framed building dating from the 17th century or earlier, featuring plaster infilling and a ground floor that has been rebuilt in red brick. The roof is hipped and covered with tiles.

No 1 includes a bay with a ground floor window that has two tiers of four lights, and an upper window with two tiers of six lights, both featuring wooden mullions and transoms, topped with a small gable. No 2 has an 18th-century flush shop window, which retains its glazing bars, along with a horizontally-sliding sash window above. The building has two storeys and two windows.
