Description

Hopkins General Stores and Post Office is an early 19th-century building that conceals a two-bay hall-house dating from around 1400. The hall-house features crown posts and a central truss with ovolo mouldings. In the early 16th century, a floor was inserted. The ground floor has a bressumer over the fireplace with mouldings. The exterior is made of red brick and has two storeys, topped with a hipped tiled roof. There are six sash windows, with the one on the extreme left featuring a cambered architrave. The building also has a modern shop front and simple doorcases.
