Description
Yardhurst is a 15th-century timber-framed and close-studded building that stands two storeys high, featuring plaster infilling. The first floor of the end window bays extends outward, supported by the protruding ends of the floor joists and brackets. The central portion of the building has eaves that overhang on curved braces and a central bracket. It has a steeply-pitched hipped tiled roof and casement windows. There are four blocked original windows with wooden mullions, three of which are located in the first floor of the end window bays, each having three lights with cinquefoil heads. The building also features a pointed wooden doorway, two windows, and two blocked windows. The first floor of the east front similarly oversails and has curved braces. The north front has curved braces supporting the first floor of its eastern half, while the ground floor has been rebuilt in red brick, with a pentice on its western half.
