Description
This is a house, originally part of a row, located on the north side of Bridge Street. The building’s core likely dates to the 16th century or earlier, but it was substantially altered and reclad in the 17th and 18th centuries. It is constructed with a timber frame and faced with red brick, with some portions in English bond, and tile hanging to the right side. The roof is covered in plain tiles. The building appears to be a hall house with a cross-wing, with the English bond brickwork likely indicating the cross-wing.
The house is two storeys high and has a ragstone plinth on the left-hand side, with a visible breach in the brickwork of the left end bay. The roof features boxed eaves, a half-hipped section to the left, and a gable to the right. There are chimney stacks to the left and at the rear right. The windows comprise wooden casements with segmental heads to the ground floor, and two glazing bar sash windows on each floor. A boarded door is located to the left, leading into a single-storey passage extension, while a half-glazed door is on the right, both preceded by flights of five steps.
