Description

Vigo Farmhouse is a house that dates from the 17th century or earlier, with alterations made in the late 17th century and the 20th century. The building is timber framed, covered and rebuilt in red brick with an irregular bond, and has a rendered ground floor with a weatherboarded right return. It features a plain tiled roof and stands two storeys high on a plinth, with boxed eaves leading to a hipped roof. The chimney stacks are truncated and project to both the left and right. On the first floor, there are four wooden casement windows, while the ground floor has two. A half-glazed door is located to the centre left, accompanied by a 19th-century flat door supported on pierced cast iron brackets and wooden piers, with the hood and brackets having been removed from South Hill House. At the rear, there is a 19th-century outshot made of flint and red brick, along with 20th-century extensions and a 20th-century conservatory at the left end. The interior retains the frame in an altered state.
