Description
This large barn, located 30 metres south-east of Netherton Farmhouse, dates from the early 18th century. It features a timber-frame construction with nine bays and aisles surrounding it. The barn has straight struts and includes three rolled steel joists spanning the full width at eaves level. The roof is hipped and thatched. The walls are boarded, with some sections being open-sided and others constructed from brickwork. Notably, one of the posts is inscribed with various initials and dates, including IEN 1712, EL 1718, PI 1770, GG 1780, and TM 1807.
