Description
Cossack Cottage and Papillon is a cottage dating from the 17th century, which has been encased in 18th-century materials. The building features a timber frame that is covered in reused dressed stone, flint, and colourwashed brick, with a weatherboarded outshot and an old plain tile roof. It is a two-storey, three-bay structure with the outshot located at one end. The road-facing end has a plinth and reused stone at the ground floor, along with an 18th-century 16-pane sash window. The side of the building has a door in the centre bay at the road end, with three-light casement windows on each side. The far bay includes a door and a two-light casement window. On the first floor, there are three-light casements, except for a two-light casement in the far bay. The roof is hipped, featuring a stack at the far end of the centre bay and a hip on the road end.
