Description

The Greyhound Inn is an early 19th-century inn situated on the west side of Broughton High Street. It is constructed of colourwashed brick with a slate and old plain tile roof. The building is two storeys high, set upon a raised plinth, and comprises three bays by three bays, with a one-storey addition to the left. A six-panel door, with half-glazing and a rectangular five-light fanlight, is accessed by three steps. The doorcase features a panelled reveal and a plain hood supported by cut brackets. Each side features a canted hip-roofed bay with a sixteen-pane sash window. On the first floor are three small sixteen-pane sash windows. A wrought iron sign bracket is located on the right corner. The roof is hipped with end stacks. The left-hand addition is blank and has a hipped roof.
