Description
Jasmine Cottage and Rose Cottage form a pair of houses arranged in an L-shape. The cottages date to the 17th century, with early 19th-century additions and 20th-century restoration. They are timber-framed and brick, with a tile roof. Jasmine Cottage, the older part, is positioned at a right angle to the road and comprises one storey and an attic. It has an irregular window arrangement and exposed timber framing with painted brick infill. A brick gable wall, dating to the early 19th century, is built onto the timber frame, incorporating horizontal flint panels. The windows are casements, and there is a half-glazed door. Rose Cottage has painted brickwork. Its west elevation is two storeys high with two windows, while its south-facing front is one storey and an attic, also with two windows. It also has casement windows and a half-glazed door. The roof is prominent, with varied hips, gables, and dormers; it was originally thatched but was tiled in the late 20th century.
