Description

Meadow Cottage is a house dating from the late 18th century, constructed of brick and thatch. The front, facing south, has two storeys with two windows above three. Originally timber-framed, it has been refronted. The roof is hipped at the west end, extending lower above an outshot with tiled lowest courses, and is half-hipped at the east end, where the timber frame is exposed in the gable. The roof is also hipped above a rear extension and tiled above another outshot. The front wall is made of painted brickwork in Flemish bond, while the east side features horizontal flint panels, the east wall is flint, and the remaining walls are rendered. The upper windows have old casements. There is a shallow 20th-century porch with a gabled slate roof, brick cheeks, and a two-panelled door. At the rear, there is a reused six-panelled door and two plain boarded doors.
