Description
The forecourt wall and piers to the Memorial Hall are a roadside boundary structure that dates back to 1817, with some 20th-century alterations. The original entrance is aligned axially and is flanked by two 20th-century brick piers that have replaced the originals, featuring old stone moulded caps. To the east of the eastern pier, there is a low wall that supports a simple wrought-iron railing, extending to another pier. This second pier is made of brickwork and includes two rusticated bands of projecting flints along with a moulded stone cap. The eastern side of this pier connects to a high wall that has tile capping, rendered panels on cob, brick verticals, and a plinth band with a flint base.
