Description

The game larder, now used as a garden store, dates from around 1800. It features a timber-frame construction with painted weatherboarding and a thatched roof, resting on staddle stones. The building has an octagonal shape, supported by nine staddle stones at the corners and two underneath. There is a door on one side with a window above it. The weatherboarding is spaced horizontally to allow for ventilation, and the roof is conical in shape. Inside, the larder is equipped with hanging frames around the walls and an octagonal hanging frame in the center, which is suspended from the roof and includes a windlass for raising and lowering items.
