Description

This is an 18th-century table tomb located 3 meters south of the Church of St Peter in Shipton Bellinger. The tomb features a rectangular table top with reeded moulding on the top slab, which is set above a cavetto. The frieze displays raised carvings in the form of swags between hanging draperies. It has corner tapered pilasters with moulded caps and bases, as well as a moulded base. The side panels are adorned with ovals that carry worn inscriptions.
