Description
The granary at Picket Twenty Farm dates from the 18th century and has a square plan, likely consisting of three by three bays. It may have been constructed using re-used timber and is supported by nine staddle stones. The exterior is weatherboarded, primarily with oak, though some softwood replacements are present. The roof is half-hipped and covered with handmade clay tiles that are pegged. The interior has not been inspected, but it is believed to be lined with cut boarding. At the time of inspection, the granary was being used as a store. This well-preserved granary is significant as it serves as an important reminder of historic farm functions. It remains externally unaltered and has group value with the 18th-century barn at Picket Twenty Farm.
