Description
Clover Cottage and Brewery Farm Cottage is a row of cottages dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, with a 20th-century addition. The structure features part timber-frame with colour washed brick infill, while the rest is constructed of brick and topped with a thatched roof. The building has five bays and is two stories high. On the right, there is one bay of timber-frame with an outshot beyond it, while to the left are three 18th-century bays and a 20th-century bay made of old brick with a tiled roof. The entrances are flanked by doors in the right outshot and in the right and left 18th-century bays. There are three irregular two-light casements in the 17th-century bay, a 20th-century leaded casement in the right 18th-century bay, and 18th-century solid framed two and three-light casements in the left and centre 18th-century bays, as well as in the 20th-century bay. Similar casements are found on the first floor. The roof is hipped and sweeps down to the right, with a stack located between the 17th-century and 18th-century bays and at the left end of the 18th-century section. The 20th-century bay is one and a half stories high and features a hipped dormer on the roof.
