Description
The walled garden located 150 meters southwest of Michelmersh Court dates from the late 18th century and is constructed of brick. Three sides of the garden are enclosed by a brick wall that stands 2 meters high on the eastern side, which faces the road. This wall is double thickness up to 1.5 meters, then it offsets to single thickness with brick-on-end coping. In the center of this wall, there are two later brick piers that support double doors. The northern wall rises to 3 meters in height and stretches 60 meters long, featuring stepped piers every 10 meters, along with square corner piers and tile coping. The western wall is similar to the eastern wall, while there is no southern wall, as the garden slopes down to a pond that is bordered by the backs of farm buildings.
