Description
An 18th-century barn stands 50 metres southwest of Townsend Manor Farm House. The barn is timber-framed and has weatherboard cladding above a brick plinth, with a thatched roof. It comprises seven bays, including an aisle. Double doors are centrally positioned, and additional doors are located mid-way along three bays of one side. A 19th-century cattleshed range adjoins one end, and a 20th-century Dutch barn exists at the other. The roof is hipped on the left-hand side and half-hipped on the right. The interior features a queen strut roof with posts set on baseplates resting on padstones. Straight braces are visible on the aisle plates, tiebeams, and wind-braces.
