Description

Harewood Halt Small Wood Lodge is a pair of dwellings, originally built in 1884 as a railway station comprising a stationmaster's house and the station building itself. The buildings are constructed of brick with a hipped tile roof. The L-shaped house is two storeys high with a 1.1 window frontage. Its features include stepped brick eaves, cambered brick arches, a moulded band at first-floor level, and decorative brickwork below the stone sills. It has coupled sash windows with unusual glazing bars, including one rectangular bay with a tile roof. The front door is sheltered by a hood on brackets and has a half-glazed door. The station block is symmetrical with a single storey and four windows, with a central attic window inserted later; a set-back section is located at the north end. It shares similar detailing with the house, including a wide doorway with a hood on brackets and half-glazed double doors. The structure remains virtually unaltered.
