Description

Two tombchests for the Steele family are located 12 meters south of the chancel of St Mary's Church. These tombchests date from the late 18th century and are made of Portland stone. One tombchest is dedicated to Anne Steele, who passed away in 1760, and another to William Steele, who died in 1769. The other tombchests commemorate Anne Steele, who died in 1778, William Steele, who passed away in 1772, Martha Steele, who died in 1791, and Mary Steele, who died in 1813.
