Description

Old Cottage is a cottage with parts dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. It features a timber frame, some rendered walls, and a thatched roof. The building has one storey and an attic, with two above four windows on the front (west) side. The roof design suggests that the taller 18th-century section was added to the lower 17th-century part, with hipped ends and eaves raised above the upper windows. The north end, along with a lower wing at the rear, displays exposed framing with rendered infill, while the rest of the front is plain. There are casement windows, including one small splayed bay with a hipped tile roof, which is located where a former doorway used to be. A new door with a brick surround is situated at the north end.
