Description
Farmhouse Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with early 19th-century features and mid-20th-century rear extensions. The front of the cottage is rendered and topped with a thatched roof. The east-facing side has one storey and an attic, with three irregularly spaced windows. The northern end of the building is an early 19th-century extension, featuring exposed framing in a late style on the gable and rear. The rear elevation shows exposed framing from the original period, along with painted brick additions from the 20th century. The front is simple, with a plinth. The windows are casements. The doorway on the south side, which is central to the original unit, dates from the early 19th century and has a tall frame. It features a canopy with a thatched top, a panelled soffit supported by carved brackets, thin pilasters, a fanlight, and double doors with three panels.
