Description

This is a barn and stable range built in the mid-18th century, located 10 meters northeast of Read's Farmhouse in Martin. The barn features a timber frame that is weatherboarded and stands on a high brick plinth, with cob along the lane and a slate roof. A cob wall connects to the stable, which has a cob wall along the lane, while the other sides are weatherboarded and topped with a corrugated iron roof. The barn has its end facing the lane and consists of seven bays, with double doors in one bay and a half-hipped roof. There is a 2-meter wall that connects to a three-bay stable with a hipped roof. This building is included for its group value.
