Description

Reads Cottage is a cottage that dates back to the 16th century and features a cruck frame. It was reclad in the 18th century and has larger timber-frame elements from the 17th century, along with early 19th and 20th-century features. The cottage has an exposed frame with brick infill, while the other walls are made of brickwork in Flemish bond with blue headers. The thatched roof is at two levels and includes an eyebrow dormer. The east front has one storey and an attic, with a total of 1.2 windows. The windows consist of sashes and metal casements. There is a 20th-century brick porch with a hipped tile roof.
